RELEASE

You may have a dream after which you wake up feeling exhilarated, liberated or experience a rush of excitement and a sense of freedom. When you finally realize that it was only a dream, you may feel a crushing sense of disappointment. In dreams of this kind you may find yourself walking out of your job or leaving your responsibilities behind and driving into the sunset. Or perhaps you learned to fly, were offered the lead part in a Hollywood blockbuster or discovered that you had an amazing musical talent and signed a million dollar record deal. Whatever it was that gave you a euphoric high and helped you break through the chains that inhibit your mind and freedom in waking life, such dreams are typically wish-fulfillment escapist fantasies that compensate for the dreariness of your waking life.

On the other hand, they may also be encouraging you to shake off the shackles that bind you in waking life. Perhaps you feel burdened down with responsibilities or feel stifled in a suffocating relationship or job. Whatever it is that is sapping your energy, your dreaming mind is urging and warning you to find a more fulfilling solution or way of coping, otherwise the bitterness and disappointment you feel on waking from your dreams may become permanent.

To dream that you have been released from some binding contract in which you had been fettered, foretells that a series of unpleasant circumstances will harass and perplex you for some time, but that eventually you will successfully overcome them.

When we release a previously strongly held belief we are moving into a different stage of spiritual awareness.

The release of birds, for instance at funerals, has the symbolism of letting the soul go free.
