Whether it is partly to do with some kind of cellular memory and the growth process that takes place is uncertain, but in dreams any limb can be taken to mean sexuality and fears associated with gender issues. Being dismembered can be taken in its literal sense – we are being torn apart. Sometimes this can suggest the need to restructure our lives and begin again.
