Blinking

A hesitation or pause.

A desire to temporarily protect or isolate yourself, perhaps due to overwhelm or threat.

A brief moment, or the idea of something happening quickly.

A fresh start, wiping off, or cleaning out (since a blink clears and restores the surface of the eye).

A blinking light can represent importance, urgency, or warning, safety or visibility, a means of creating orderliness or controlling a flow (as in a blinking traffic light).
