Ten Thousand Dream Dictionary

by Pamela Ball
1- Going into a tomb suggests going down into the darker parts of our own personality. We may be fearful to begin with, but later more at ease. Finding ourselves in a tomb suggests we arc ready to face our fears of death and dying.

2- If we are trapped in a tomb in a dream we may be trapped by- fear, pain or old outdated attitudes in our waking life.

If there arc bodies in the tomb, these arc usually parts of ourselves we have either not developed or have killed off.

If one of those bodies comes alive, the attention we have given to that aspect of our personality has been sufficient to resurrect it.

3- Spiritually we may feel that we have entered into a world that is all at once mysterious and dark dark in the sense of wanting to see the light. Although we fear it, we are also cxcitcd.

It is worth remembering that we are not trapped, but in a brief state of panic which can be overcome by belief.

Tombs can also represent the collective past of humankind and our link with archetypal ancestors. Have you honored this connection in some manner recendy? If not, this dream may be calling you to a figurative graveyard visit where you can explore your past as a member of humanity.

The portions of the self, the suhconscious , or the Collective Unconscious that have heen ignored so long as to be figuratively dead and buried.

The Big Dictionary of Dreams

Something inside you has died and you should find out what it stands for and why it has appeared in the subconscious. Also, this dream invites you to reflect over a terminal state, about what it means for your mortality.

If it repeats a lot, it could be an indication of neurosis. Assuming that you see your own body in the tomb, it means that you are restructuring your life. Generally, the dream foretells a profound change in your existence.

Superstition says that you experienced a loss, but not necessarily death. Maybe you are dying spiritually and you will later be reborn. The celtic people considered cemeteries the uterus of Mother Earth, and that in them new spiritual life is born. Other interpretations claim that this dream foretells deception, and, curiously, news about a marriage.
