1- When we are conscious of being near someone or something in a dream we are on the point of recognising them in waking life. We may be becoming emotionally closer or more able to handle whatever is happening.
2- When an object or image in a dream is near us - that is, when we are passive within the dream situation we are often alerted to the fact that something will happen quickly. Spatial awareness can give us a concept of time.
3- Conscious Awareness of those aspects of life which are spiritual often manifest as a nearness.

If something is very close in a dream, this can indicate that the matter being dealt with in the dream is close to consciousness.
