Dreaming of measurements that involve a calculation of flow, temperature, length or weight relates to your attempts to control and make sense of your emotions. For example, dreams of a barometer or thermometer (instruments that measure the weather and body temperature, two constantly fluctuating variables) can often relate to your mood; if the measurements were high, have your emotions taken over? Have you lost your cool? The dream is warning you that difficult times may lie ahead and is urging you to keep your temper or think clearly to avoid problems. Dreams of gas or water meters may have similar meanings. Are you allowing your emotions to flow too freely in waking life?

Dreams that involve rulers, compasses or other measuring instruments reflect a desire to put a situation or your emotions into perspective; if you keep a cool head, there is no reason why you should not achieve success.

If a radar screen appears in your dream, this may refer to your intuition or sense of other people’s feelings.
