Some cultures associate hunting with the subject’s insatiable obsession to pursue her wishes. In turn, hunting dreams reveal a desire to escape from the problems and at the same time, a willingness to revolt against them. On many occasions, you should read this image as, instead of being aggressive against it, an attempt to get used to it, because with an aggressive attitude you are not going to solve much.

If you kill an animal while hunting, perhaps you are trying to destroy an instinctive part of your personality.

According to popular oneiric tradition, hunting a hare indicates that you will have problems.

If it is a fox, a friend will let you down. Whereas if it is a deer you will conquer the person you are in love with.

In a dream, a hunter represents a philanderer, a womanizer who rounds women, or a pimp.

If one sees himself befriending a hunter, or ifhe helps him, and if the hunter is pursuing what is lawful to kill for food, one’s dream then connotes personal advantages.

If the hunt is after an animal which is unlawful for food, then the dream means sufferings. Hunting a lion in a dream means acquiring great power through deception. Hunting sparrows, hawks, or falcons in a dream also means gaining power. Hunting birds or pigeons in a dream represents a tricky merchant. Hunting beasts in a dream means cheating travellers. Fishing means womanizing.

A beast hunter in a dream represents someone who takes advantage of foreigners.

A bird hunter in a dream also represents a school teacher, a music teacher, or a preacher.
