Dirt on an object, you, your clothes, or something else can represent: The intrusion of the outside world into your world.

The result of participating “out in the world” or interacting with others (since the world or the people in it can “rub off” on you or have an effect on you, whether desired or undesired).

A perceived imperfection or mistake.

A feeling or fear of being judged or embarrassed, or a situation being spoiled.

Feeling less than perfect, or getting caught up in perfectionism or a false sense of self value.

Getting dirty and feeling okay about it can represent: letting go of inhibitions, feeling free to enjoy life despite its problems, accepting yourself or someone else as they are.
