A broken limb or other body part can represent a perceived or real problem or challenge in whatever area of your life that body part represents.
For example, if a leg represents your ability to make progress in life, then a broken leg might represent something you feel is impeding your progress somehow.
If a toe represents trying something new (as in “dipping your toe into the water”), then a broken toe might represent getting your feelings hurt when you tried something new in real life.
