TOUCH

In dreams, touch suggests making contact in some way or the need to reach out to someone or something. Your dream may be drawing your attention to your need for other people and their need for you. The transference of power and responsibility can also be signified by the act of touching in dreams, so perhaps you are about to take on new responsibilities in real life. In general though, being aware of touching or being touched in dreams suggests intimacy, contact or a linking up with something. You may also have touched feelings or drives that are shocking you into action.

If, in your dream, you are surrounded by people or things but do not feel touched or held, this suggests emotional inhibition and an inability to reach out or express your need for others.

If you are actively avoiding being touched in your dream, this suggests hidden anger or aggression towards someone in your life. Touching is also a means of communicating feelings or intentions to others and it may have the same meaning in your dream.

If something is hard to the touch in your dreams, this suggests lack of feeling or response, or emotional difficulties in real life. If, by contrast, something is soft to the touch, this suggests a desire for comfort and love or the ability to self-comfort. It may recall memories of a soft toy you had as a child, or a non-threatening emotional relationship that can be controlled by you.
