For most people, taking a pill suggests doing something to make themselves feel better. In dreams, taking such a course of action will signify putting ourselves through an experience we need in order to improve our performance or potential.

On a psychological level we maybe aware of our ability to heal ourselves. Taking a pill in a dream may alert us to that capability. We may also be conscious of the necessity for taking care over what we put in our mouths, particularly if someone else is giving us the pill.

Spiritual or alternative methods of healing may be appropriate in a given situation.

If in the dream you are addicted to some sort of pills, it probably indicates that you behave too impulsively. This fact could be hurting you. Some people believe that, through hallucinogenic pills, the higher conscious is awakened. Evidently, this is not the best path to achieve this. Concentration and meditation are always much more innocuous and useful ways.
