Symbol: A peacock, with a fanned-out tail, is a symbol of the sun—but also of vanity.

Vision: Seeing a peacock with a fanned-out tail: being brash and overconfident might impress some people; most, however, think it laughable. You would make a much better impression on people if you were less vain and arrogant. Screeching peacocks: a tempting invitation or project—but extreme caution is in order! In a mans dream, the peacock means meeting a woman who is hiding ambition and ego behind her charm.

Depth Psychology: This dream also is an indication of too much vanity. Even if you do just normal bragging to impress others, or attempt to amaze people with your intellectual faculties, someday you are going to make a fool of yourself—give it up!

Pride, dignity, or self-respect (e.g., being “proud as a peacock”).

In Babylonia and Persia, an emblem of regality. Similarly in the East, peacocks represent rank and having obtained the favor of powerful people.

Buddhist: Compassion and fidelity. It was believed that Kwan Yin, the protectress of children and mothers, took this form, and that peacocks would die of loneliness if their mate passed away.

A warning that bragging will eventually bring sadness. This bird foretells rainfall by its dancing.

In a dream, a peacock represents a vain and a strutting person.

A peacock in a dream also could represent a beautiful and a wealthy woman, or cheerful looking people.

If one sees himself owning apeacock and a pigeon in a dream, it means that he is a pimp.

A female peacock in a dream represents a bride, children, or wealth. Owning a peacock in a dream also means wandering, heedlessness, pride, ostentatiousness, backbiting, deceit, lies, confiding into one’s enemy, loss of blessings, experiencing poverty after being rich and tightness after plenitude. Seeing a peacock in a dream also means jewelry, clothing, presidency, a beautiful wife, marriage and good children. Eating the flesh of a peacock in a dream means the death of one’s wife and inheriting her wealth.

To hold the radiant rain-bow colored plumules of a peacock in a dream means profits earned earned through a woman.

To catch the chick of a peacock in a dream means profits through a son from that woman, or it could mean that one may beget a son.
