In dreams in which you are famous, or achieving fame within a chosen field, your dreaming mind may be urging you to recognize and give yourself more credit for your achievements. In waking life you may be very shy but in dreams you can achieve things you never thought yourself capable of achieving. The ego is a powerful tool and your need for recognition arises from it. If, however, you are to move forward with your life and reach your full potential, you have to believe in yourself and a dream about fame allows you to accept the possibility that you are more powerful than you think.
On the other hand, a dream in which you are famous would be considered wishfulfillment by Freudians, reflecting a yearning for more attention and recognition in waking life. It could also, however, reflect the fact that more people recognize your waking behavior (for good or ill) than you realize.
Dreaming of being a famous person or celebrity is quite common for adolescents, reflecting their desire to be part of a talented and admired group of people. Such dreams show a strong urge to find a place within a group that is emotionally secure and creatively satisfying.
