ANVIL

1- Depending on the dream circumstances, the anvil can represent the basic force of nature, brute force or a way of creating an initial spark. By creating a situation in our lives where we are going to be tried and tested, we are pitting ourselves against natural forces.

2- As an image of the spark of life and of initiation, the anvil was once a very strong symbol. That spark is now more often represented by the spark plugs in a car.

3- The anvil ties in with the Norse forge Gods.

The symbolism is that of forging new life, creating new beginnings and so on.

Symbol: The anvil is a symbol of virtue, courage, and strength.

Vision: Somebody working on an anvil: you want to force an issue but with little hope of success. Seeing an anvil: friends are about to have a fight, or you will lose money gambling. Patiently working an object on the anvil: hard work and patience pays off in overcoming present difficulties; good work makes future gains possible.

To see hot iron with sparks flying, is significant of a pleasing work; to the farmer, an abundant crop; favorable indeed to women. Cold, or small, favors may be expected from those in power.

The means of success is in your power, but in order to obtain it you will have to labor under difficulty.

If the anvil is broken, it foretells that you have, through your own neglect, thrown away promising opportunities that cannot be recalled.
