Adultery

General Meaning: It can be a cause for concern if you dream that you are making love to someone that is not your spouse. You need to discern the spirit of the dream to determine if it is positive or negative.

• It is common to dream of embracing an unfamiliar man or woman. This could represent a leaning towards a prophetic or teaching ministry.

(Look up the symbol for ‘Man’ and ‘Woman” to get a full understanding on this) • The sexual act is a very intimate one. In fact in the Word when a couple made love, they were considered married. It meant that they were one. When you dream of having adultery, you need to ask yourself, “What am I becoming one with right now?” • Do you know the person you are committing adultery with in your dream? If so, determine what they could represent in your dream.

• Dreams • Positive: If you dream that you are embracing an unfamiliar man or woman, but it feels ‘right’ in the dream, then it could mean that the Lord is leading you to embrace something new in your life.

Negative: When you wake up feeling unclean and negative from your dream, then it is likely negative.

If you continue having this kind of dream, then the Lord is trying to tell you that you are marrying yourself to something that is not of Him.

• Consider this passage: • Proverbs 7:21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield; with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

• 22 He goes after her immediately as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks • This scripture is a perfect picture of the world.

The New Testament tells us that friendship with the world is enmity with God.

If you keep having this sort of dream, then it means that you are allowing yourself to partake of the world and things that are not of God.

• If you dream that your spouse is having an affair, you need to determine what your spouse represents to you.

If they represent the Lord in your dreams, it could mean that there is a contamination in your walk with the Lord.

• If you have a fear that your spouse is having an affair in real life and then you dream it, then your dream is clearly a purging dream. It means that you are simply living out in your dreams, the inner fears you have in reality.

• DO NOT: Accuse your spouse of an affair because you had a dream. You will only increase any fears and conflicts you have in your marriage.

• Visions • God is not in the business of revealing someone else’s sins.

A person’s sin is between them and the Lord. However it can happen as in the case of David where Nathan exposed his affair with Bathsheba for the sake of the people.

• If God reveals anything like this to you, it is for you to pray so that this can be exposed God’s way.

• If engaged in personal ministry, the Lord shows you the person in an adulterous affair of the past, it is for the purpose of healing and forgiveness. I recommend the use of tact in such a situation, followed up with prayer and counsel.

Negative: As in with dreams, if the vision you see is symbolic, then it means that the person in question is joining themselves to something that is not of the Lord. Either they are walking in the flesh or they are embracing the things of the world.

Dreams in which you or your partner have an affair with someone else may reflect your feelings about adultery and betrayal but may also suggest that you are feeling insecure or lonely in your current relationship. Perhaps you suspect that your partner is cheating on you in real life; your unconscious may be showing you the worst-case scenario in an attempt to prepare you for the possibility of betrayal. Alternatively, if you are the one having an affair, this may simply be a way of once again experiencing the intoxicating high of falling in love, and sharing passion and sexual pleasure. Your dreaming mind may be highlighting your need for more intimacy and togetherness in your current relationship. Your feelings in the dream will give you an important clue.

If you feel exhilarated, this suggests that you need to spice up your sex life with your partner, but if you felt guilty it may be warning you of the consequences of having an affair in waking life. You should also ask yourself if you have been faithful to your partner in thought and deed, as unkind thoughts and words might be seen as betrayals by other names. Another interpretation suggests that such dreams indicate that you are being unfaithful, not to another person, but to an idea or principle in waking life; perhaps you have stolen someone else’s idea?

Bigamy dreams in which you or your partner have more than one lover can suggest a desire for more variety in your sex life but they can also suggest that you are trying to cope with too many ideas and activities at once. Wife- swapping dreams in which married couples swap partners for sexual gratification may reflect a longing for another partner or a desire to spice up your sex life.

If the dream involves a couple you know, think about whether you are attracted to either partner or whether there is something about their relationship or their lifestyle that you admire or envy.

(Rape) Committing the abominable and forbidden act of adultery in a dream means betrayal.

If one sees himself doing so in a dream, it means that he will betray his wife.

An unknown woman is better here than a known woman. Adultery in a dream also means theft.

If one sees an adulteress soliciting him for fornication in a dream it means that he might be lured to earn unlawful money. Ifone commits adultery with ayoung and a beautiful woman in a dream, it means that he will place his earnings in a well-guarded place or a coffer.

If a strong person commits adultery in his dream and if he had to face the divine ordinance and chastisement for his sin in the dream, it means that his authority will expand.

If the person in the dream qualifies for leadership, then he will be endowed with one.

If one sees himself committing adultery with the wife of a close friend in a dream it means that he will take some money from him. Ifone reads the ruling of the divine ordinance concerning the punishment of adulterers in a dream, it means that he is an adulterer. If a man sees himself raping a young woman in a dream, it means that he hides his savings in an unknown place.

If he is caught after that, and if the divine ordinance is exacted in the dream, his dream means that he will follow the path of knowledge and understanding of religious jurisprudence. Ifone commits adultery with an adulteress in a dream, it means that he will face severe trials.

If one enters a brothel in his dream and finds it impossible to leave that place, it means that he may die shortly.

If one sees himself sleeping with someone else’s wife, while the husband is not minding in a dream, it means that the husband will entrust him with his home to manage.

If one marries an adulteress in a dream, it means that he is an adulterer.
